I'm forever grateful to bassist extraordinaries and friend Yasuhito More for giving me the opportunity to present my music to some extremely receptive, respectful and open audiences in his amazing home country. Tours are hard to organize, longer tours even more so. Mori put together two whole weeks of traveling and performing. Everything worked smoothly from day one, so it was just for us to ride along, take out our instruments and give the audiences all the energy we had every night.
A few weeks after we got home, I received couple of cds in the mail. It turns out that one of the concerts had been recorded without our knowledge. Some ambitious wheels were in motion, as Mr. Tatsuo Minami, owner and manager of Gallery & Cafe Yamaneko-ken, a wooden cabin up in the mountains surrounding the town of Ogose, wanted to start his own label in order to release live recording made at his place. Also, he wanted to be the very first release on the soon-to-be-born Wildcat House Label. And that is what you're holding in your hands. Unedited live versions of five of my compositions.
